Answer:  The total TANF family’s monthly payment amount is based on family size. The maximum payment a family may receive is the payment level for the particular family size.  It ranges from $100 to $600+ depending on which state you live, your income and family size.   There are other factors too.

In order to qualify for TANF, there are usually strict income limit and resource limit.  Most states have a maximum resource limit of $1,000 or $2,000 before you become ineligible for TANF.
